At the second year of GLR we had two different exams, one more about the explaining part of animating and the
other more about the different ways there is to animate.
So with the first exam coming closer I had to first make an explain animation (Explanimation). This wasn't just
a random assignment that we'd need to animate. We got an actual client that wanted a explanimation for her
hospital, Stichting Transmurale Zorg (STZ). In this animation we had to explain what happeneds to patients that
can go back home after being in the hospital for a long time.
For this animation we were paired with someone. I got paired with a fellow classmate named Mirja. For this
assignment we had 5 weeks in total. We both got along quite well and we got the same idea when it came to
the assignment, which made it a lot easier to work with each other.
As we were getting to know each other a little better and starting on the project I started with the
styleguide. STZ already had a logo so I simply used that as the colours we'd use for the animation. I also
decided on the fonts, and the background colours (in the end we didn't use those).
We also got from our teacher the voice-over that was required in the animation.
In the following weeks we were simply working on the animation itself. I made a quick storyboard sketch (below the pictures), and with each sketch I'd add what voice-over is on there.
In "Spark" you'll go to the Spark I made about the STZ explanimation.
In "End Result" you'll also go to the Youtube video from the hospital itself, in the description yiu'll find
Mirja and my name.
